Hope

Good Afternoon Crafters

A good productive Saturday here today, typical housework before I got into my craft room.

Managed to get a few projects finished and blog admin too.

Today sharing a canvas with you.

I gave the canvas a coat of dark cream and then a coat of crackle paint, once this was dry I painted with cream paint. I then added some script with a stencil and modelling paste. I then dry brushed townhouse teal and hot cocoa acrylic paint over the canvas

Once this was dry I then added the picture from IndigoBlu Lost Family Ephemera pack. I added lace, metal embellishments and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. I added the flourish moulding which was painted with townhouse teal and dry brushed over with hot cocoa.

To finish of I added splats using Kingfisher blue metallic paint.

Below are a couple of close up pictures.

Jewellery Box

Good Afternoon Crafters

How are you all this cold Saturday afternoon?

At the moment we have rain, we have had hail and bright sunshine, it just doesn't know what to do, but it sure is chilly.

Today I am sharing a wooden Jewellery box I have altered.

I gave the box a coat of white Gesso and then a coat of pale dusky pink. Once dry I added a coat of crackle paint and then a coat of cream paint. I then dry brushed IndigoBlu Goldfinch metallic paint which highlighted some of the crackle, I wanted a subtle crackle and was pleased how it turn out.
On the front of the door I attached a paper moulding which I painted with goldfinch and add cameo of a flower.

As you can see the subtle crackle on the inside.
I decorated the sides and draw with flower lace from Gone Artsy and added pink gems to the centre.

On the top of the box I added a small tiara and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts which have been dry brushed with gold metallic paint.

Steampunk Altered Mirror

Evening Crafter's
Today I am sharing with you another steampunk project using one of the cheap mirrors from Ikea.
I removed the mirror by gently heating the back of the mirror so the glue became fluid before painting back and front with black Gesso. Once this was dry I then stencilled over the frame of the mirror with clocks and cogs stencils with modelling paste. Once this was dry I then painted over with IndigoBlu Raven Black metallic paint.
I then arranged an assortment of Cogs from Things to Alter, nuts and blots, metal cogs and a zip flower. Gave this all another coat of raven black. Once this was all dry I then dry brushed Goldfinger metallic paint over the whole of the frame which highlights the stencilling as well as the raised embellishments.
I printed off the image from Steampunk II by Debbie Moore.

A close up of the embellishments.

Steampunk Box Frame

Good Afternoon Crafters
Today I am sharing a steampunk project that I have created using a box frame.
I started off by first painting the box with black gesso before stencilling the sides with cogs and gears stencil with modelling paste and adding texture to the front of the frame. I then gave the frame a coat of IndigoBlu Pheasant Bronze and highlighted with Kingfisher Blue to give a tarnished look. I then added the metal frame to the top of the frame and added the words "Time Travel", a key and a safey pin to the front of the frame.
For the inside I cut out a piece of card board and covered with map patterned tissue paper, I then stencilled cogs and gears by using an A4 mask. Once this was dry I gave it a light colouring of pheasant bronze with a baby wipe. Once this was dry I then highlighted the cogs with kingfisher blue.
Once all this was dry I added the clock face and hands, cogs, air balloon which are from Things to Alter. All were coloured with Hot Cocoa before highlighted with kingfisher blue.

The picture below shows the inside of the frame.
